Welcome to the seventh bottling of our annual summer tradition.

August 1st is always a special date in our calendar, but this year it carries a little extra weight as we continue to celebrate our 10th-anniversary year. To mark the occasion properly and raise a glass to our home county, we are incredibly proud to introduce the Filey Bay Yorkshire Day 2026 Special Release.

Every year, Spirit of Yorkshire Whisky Director, Joe Clark spends time carefully assessing the stock in our Hunmanby warehouse to find a profile that perfectly represents where we are as a distillery. For this year’s bottling, we have chosen to highlight the quality of a small run of refill ex-Sherry hogsheads.

We firmly believe that some of the very best whisky to ever mature at our distillery comes from these hardworking refill sherry casks. Because these casks have already completed a full maturation cycle with us here on the Yorkshire coast, the oak extractives and the overall impact of the wood are naturally softened.

This gentle process provides a steady, low, and slow maturation environment. It allows our signature light, fruity new make spirit to interact beautifully with the oak over time, resulting in a wonderfully complex and elegant flavour profile.

Tasting Notes and Cask Details

With only 1,500 bottles yielded from these carefully selected casks, this is a dram we’re really proud of.
