Filey Bay in France - Spirit Of Yorkshire

Following a successful trip to Germany, David headed to France to work alongside our French distributor, Dugas.

Teaming up with the Lou Kervoelen, who is responsible for Spirit sales in Bretagne (Brittany) and the Loire Atlantique Region, they visited 11 fantastic Cave owners over two days. Their enthusiasm for the tastings and the story behind Filey Bay was truly inspiring, and we’re thrilled that our whisky will be available soon in: – Chez TonTon Bar Cave – Le Cep De Vigne Missillac – V&B Blain and Reze – Cave SPI & BI Nantes – Les Domaines Qui Montent SAUTRON.

Next up for David is a trip to Japan…

A true piece of Yorkshire history: the first ever ten-year-old Yorkshire single malt whisky.

14th June 2016. That was the day this bung was hammered into Cask 001.

Today, we took it out for the very first time. To stand in the warehouse and taste the first-ever 10-year-old single malt whisky made in Yorkshire is an absolute privilege. It’s hard to put into words what this moment means to the whole team.

An amazing first, and a beautiful milestone to be a part of. Cheers to a decade of distilling.

Exactly ten years ago today, history was made here in Yorkshire.

It all goes back to a conversation in 2011. Best friends Tom and Dave were chatting over a pint: "We've got barley on the farm, we've got our own water, and we already make great beer." Whisky was the next logical step.

Five years of hard work later, on the 14th June 2016, Co-Founders David Thompson and Tom Mellor officially filled our first ever cask of new make spirit.

That first cask paved the way for the Filey Bay single malt we are so proud to share with you today.
