The ImpEx Collection: Edition Five

Our US importers, ImpEx Beverages, have announced Edition Five of their independent bottling series, The ImpEx Collection. We are pleased to share that a single cask of our Yorkshire single malt has been selected to be part of this lineup, alongside some highly regarded distilleries.

Exploring Cask Influence

While previous releases of The ImpEx Collection explored the “naked” character of distillates in second-fill wood, Edition Five pivots to examine the interplay between quality spirit and heavy cask influence, specifically through exceptional wine and specialty casks.

For this release, ImpEx selected a 2018 ex-Madeira single cask from our warehouse. As those familiar with our distillery know, our late mentor Dr. Jim Swan instilled in us a deep appreciation for specialised wood management. Our light, fruity house style was designed to interact thoughtfully with dynamic casks, and this ex-Madeira bottling is a fine example of that philosophy in practice.

Bottled independently by ImpEx for the US market, the specifics of this single cask are as follows:

Cask Type: Ex-Madeira Single Cask (#3152) 2018 (6-Year-Old)

ABV: 52.7%

Outturn: 274 Bottles

Tasting Notes: The Madeira cask lends a beautifully rich, dessert-like profile to the whisky. You can expect notes of butterscotch, cotton candy, toffee apples, and apricot jam, all brought together with a measured, balanced finish.

As an exclusive release within The ImpEx Collection, this bottling is only available in the United States. For our American followers interested in exploring this expression, the 274 bottles are currently making their way to select specialty retailers across the country.
