During the last week, David showcased Filey Bay German Exclusive #1 at Whisky-Messe- The Village in Nuremberg with our German distributor Schlumberger, while Jenni shared Filey Bay with Italian partners Cuzziol, including a visit to the Beer and Food Attraction Show in Rimini with Wold Top Brewery, talking all things whisky, farm and beer. Amy and Joe spent five busy days in Holland hosting tastings and training with the team at De Monnik Dranken.

Filey Bay 10th Anniversary Special Release. 1/2016 bottles, a nod to the year we filled our first cask.

A marriage of whisky aged in ex-Bourbon and ex-Madeira casks from our earliest days through to 2023. Including from Cask 001, filled 14th June 2016.

Tasting Notes: Rich, fruity and spicy with flavours of fruit gums, vanilla slices, stone fruit, biscuit and honey.

A true piece of Yorkshire history: the first ever ten-year-old Yorkshire single malt whisky.

14th June 2016. That was the day this bung was hammered into Cask 001.

Today, we took it out for the very first time. To stand in the warehouse and taste the first-ever 10-year-old single malt whisky made in Yorkshire is an absolute privilege. It’s hard to put into words what this moment means to the whole team.

An amazing first, and a beautiful milestone to be a part of. Cheers to a decade of distilling.

Exactly ten years ago today, history was made here in Yorkshire.

It all goes back to a conversation in 2011. Best friends Tom and Dave were chatting over a pint: "We've got barley on the farm, we've got our own water, and we already make great beer." Whisky was the next logical step.

Five years of hard work later, on the 14th June 2016, Co-Founders David Thompson and Tom Mellor officially filled our first ever cask of new make spirit.

That first cask paved the way for the Filey Bay single malt we are so proud to share with you today.
