A Look Back at Open Weekend 2026
The dust has finally settled on our 2026 Distillery Open Weekend.
Opening the gates to over 550 people across two days, it was a fantastic way to mark 10 years of Filey Bay Single Malt Whisky. Here is a look back at a very busy, memorable weekend in Hunmanby.
The Whiskies
This year’s event featured some major milestones for the distillery. For the first time, our Filey Bay Yorkshire Day 2026 special release officially landed on Yorkshire Day itself.
However, the standout release of the weekend was undoubtedly Filey Bay ‘The First 10 Year Old’ Single Cask. Limited to just 200 bottles, this milestone whisky was available exclusively to those attending our ‘Decade of Distilling’ Masterclass.
Masterclasses
We ran two distinct masterclasses on the Main Stage this year to give our guests a closer look at what we do:
-
A Decade of Distilling: Hosted by Joe Clark and David Thompson, this session took guests through five carefully selected drams, tracking our spirit’s journey from our earliest days of production right up to the ten-year mark.
-
English Heritage: Amy Teasdale was joined on stage by Charlotte Hansen from Scarborough Castle for a deep dive into local history. Guests were poured a dram of our Filey Bay Heritage release, which launched in early 2025 as an exclusive for English Heritage.
Food & Drink
Great whisky requires great food, and Embers Kitchen of Scarborough delivered with a brilliant wood-fired menu.
Over in the main marquee, our dedicated Dram Bar poured a wide range of Filey Bay bottlings from across our entire ten-year history, while our friends at Wold Top Brewery kept the pints flowing on the main bar.
Music
We were also joined by some fantastic local musicians. On Saturday, Em Louise took to the stage with her saxophone, playing a mix of covers and original tracks. On Sunday, Beth Pilling and Jack Robertson shared the stage for a great set of acoustic covers.
Local Producers
Finally, a massive thank you to the local producers and exhibitors who set up with us and supported the event all weekend:
-
Stosh Workshop
-
Three Riddings Coffee
-
Davenport Handmade
-
English Heritage (Scarborough Castle)
-
Embers Kitchen
Thank you to everyone who made the trip to the distillery to celebrate with us. Here is to the next ten years!
