Looking back at a successful Open Weekend 2025! 

What a weekend! Our Open Weekend 2025 is a wrap and what a brilliant two days it was. Nearly 600 of you joined us at the distillery for our most ambitious event yet, and the first time we’ve opened our gates for a full weekend of whisky, food, and celebration.

From the moment the gates opened on Saturday morning, there was a real buzz around the Distillery. Visitors were eager to get their hands on this year’s exclusive bottlings: two exceptional Single Cask releases and Filey Bay Yorkshire Day 2025, our sixth Yorkshire Day release. Each of the three bottlings was only available at the event, and the response was phenomenal.

Throughout the weekend, our distillery yard was transformed into a celebration of all things Yorkshire. We were proud to welcome some of the region’s best independent producers and craftspeople. Lishman’s of Ilkley and The Courtyard Dairy joined us on stage for a mouthwatering whisky and food pairing session, diving into the magic that happens when food meets Filey Bay whisky.

Three Ridings Coffee offered tastings and talked visitors through the story behind their barrel-aged coffee, matured in one of our very own whisky casks. Over in the craft tent, Stosh Workshop and Davenport Handmade showcased their beautiful handcrafted masterpieces, a perfect way to take a bit of Yorkshire home with you.

It wasn’t all food and drink though, education was front and centre too. Our friends from Filey Bay 1769 and Whitby Lobster Hatchery gave insightful talks on the local environment, sustainability, and the importance of our Yorkshire coastline, all while highlighting the projects they’re so passionately leading.

And of course, Embers Kitchen kept everyone well fed all weekend. Their menu was packed with delicious locally sourced dishes, but the standout this year had to be the Sunday lobster special, a nod to the coast that surrounds us and the community we’re proud to be part of.

Now, as the distillery returns to normal, we’re already thinking ahead. 2026 will be a big year, it marks ten years since we founded Spirit of Yorkshire and filled our very first cask. So expect something special for our tenth birthday Open Weekend. We can’t wait to share it with you.
