Enjoying: Filey Bay Nurture Wins Gold at The World Whisky Masters 2025
We’re delighted to announce that Nurture has been awarded a Gold Medal at The World Whisky Masters 2025.
The World Whisky Masters, hosted annually by The Spirits Business, brings together leading spirits specialists from across the globe. Judging is done blind, with whiskies recognised for their quality through Silver, Gold and Masters medals. To have Filey Bay Nurture celebrated in this way is something we’re incredibly proud of.
Earlier this year we launched Filey Bay Nurture, the first of our Regenerative Editions, whiskies that share the deeper story of how and why we farm for whisky the way we do.Rooted in our history as Yorkshire farmers since 1945, brewers since 2003 and distillers since 2016, Nurture reflects everything we stand for: making whisky with integrity, provenance and a true sense of place. From our homegrown, regeneratively farmed barley to our farm sourced water, every step, from field to bottle is in our hands.
Exclusively available at over 200 Waitrose stores nationwide and online at waitrose.com, Filey Bay Nurture is matured in ex-Bourbon casks and ex-Red Wine casks that have been shaved, toasted and re-charred to soften the tannins. The result is a whisky with depth and balance, perfect to enjoy outside or in, all year round.
Tasting Notes
Creamy sweetness with malt and biscuit notes, lifted by ripe red fruits reminiscent of strawberry and cream sweets, rounded with soft vanilla ice cream. 70cl | 46.5% vol | Natural Colour | Non-Chill Filtered
From Joe Clark, Whisky Director, Spirit of Yorkshire Distillery
“Filey Bay Nurture is a whisky that tells the story of how and why we farm and distil the way we do. For it to be recognised for its quality and flavour on the world stage is a huge moment for us. By marrying ex-Bourbon matured whisky with whisky from re-coopered Red Wine casks, we’ve created something that captures both character and complexity – a whisky to savour, wherever and whenever it’s enjoyed.”
